Kate Brian really has a knack for writing pageturners.

And her endings always have insane cliffhangers - especially this one! I really enjoyed this series the first time I read it and I'm still enjoying it the second time around. Apr 03, Janelle Dazzlepants rated it it was amazing Shelves: young-adult , contemporary-fiction , mystery , murder-mystery. I described Ambition as 'really fucking exciting', but if I had to describe Revelation in a couple of words it would be 'lonely' or 'hopeless'.

Reed is completely ostracized after the leak of the Dash video, and with the exception of Sabine, all the Billings Girls refuse to talk to her out of fear that Noelle would find out. She's kicked out of Billings, her ex-boyfriend is dating Satan incarnate, the entire school thinks she murdered Cheyenne, and the masses of guys that were courting her a wee I described Ambition as 'really fucking exciting', but if I had to describe Revelation in a couple of words it would be 'lonely' or 'hopeless'.

She's kicked out of Billings, her ex-boyfriend is dating Satan incarnate, the entire school thinks she murdered Cheyenne, and the masses of guys that were courting her a week ago suddenly won't even sneer in her general direction. As annoying as she can be, I really felt for the girl. The loneliness was palpable, and I wanted nothing more than to give her a big hug. And as if the author didn't do a good enough job of kicking Reed while she's down, Reed's new dorm in Pemberley Hall is right next to that of Ivy Slade. And as much as I hate Ivy, her malicious and snide interactions with Reed were so much fun to read.

I also really enjoyed it when the author revealed that the stalker was also targeting Ivy, prompting Ivy and Reed to join forces to bring them down. It was nice to see another side to Ivy, and I'm glad the author didn't make the two all lovey-dovey-bffs straight away - they both kept their distance, but both wanted the same outcome. I still think Ivy's a raging bitch, but I'm glad the author upped her humanity level just a bit. I'd suspected Sabine a couple of times throughout the text, but immediately dismissed it because she was so damn innocent and nice. I love that she turned out to be the stalker and killer, and I think Kate Brian did an epic job in tying up the loose ends.

There were moments where I'd suspected something was up, but I never got to the stage where I was like 'okay, is the stalker interfering here? I also thought Sabine was hiding something when it came to her sister, but I didn't think much of it. I'm so happy that those little details were addressed! I don't like that Sabine just happened to be Ariana's secret sister though, it was almost as lame as the secret-basement-dwelling-twin storyline in Pretty Little Liars.

I guess the author wanted to completely blindside us, but I wish there had been a little more tying Sabine to Ariana. How convenient is it that she happens to be Ariana's sister, despite having a French accent, living in Martinique and looking completely different? Was she even Ariana's biological sister or just a stepsister?

I think it would've made more sense if Sabine was from America and occasionally dropped into a Southern accent. Actually, it would've just made more sense if Amberley had been the killer, since she seems to be appropriating Ariana's identity. Overall: I'd describe the first half of Revelation as 'lonely' and 'hopeless', but I guess I'd also describe the second half as 'really fucking exciting'.

We find out who the second killer is, and it's a complete and utter mindfuck.

Though I don't like that the killer conveniently happens to be related to Ariana, I thought the big reveal was much more satisfying that of Confessions. Kate Brian did a great job here, making Reed's loneliness palpable and tying up all the loose ends and then some with Sabine. Feb 17, Ada Swartley rated it really liked it. I really like this book! It was super suspenseful and dramatic, but in a good way. I also liked how detailed the characters were described because it made me feel like I knew them. Also, the cliffhanger at the end made me mad but now I want to read the next book!

Jan 21, Giselle rated it really liked it. The 8th book of the series, we find Reed suddenly an outcast and a loner, when just a couple of weeks ago she was the queen bee. I found the book to be the most emotional one of the series. It was sad in a lot of aspects and I really felt bad for Reed, and even nervous for her at times.

Although sad, it gets your emotions all racked up so you really get into the book. I finished it in one day. So it wasn't my favorite story-wise, but it was the most engaging. I just wanted Reed to be back at Bil The 8th book of the series, we find Reed suddenly an outcast and a loner, when just a couple of weeks ago she was the queen bee. I just wanted Reed to be back at Billings and get her life back. Even if those girls are one dimensional and self absorbed at times, they still rock! A lot of loose ends were tied up, but more questions also arose, and hopefully Reed's life will get back on track and she will get Josh back though now I kind of like Ivy so I may feel a bit bad for her.

The ending was a cliffhanger like expected. But the next book is on my bookshelf so it's ok. Jul 19, Merary rated it it was amazing Shelves: boring-bland-main-characters , fucked-up-situations , backstabbing-fun , guilty-pleasures , ya , chick-lit , mean-girls , oh-no-that-didn-t-just-happen , rich-and-or-famous , mystery-and-or-murder. Reed Brennan was kicked out of Billings. Everyone thinks that Reed killed Cheyenne Martin, so her reputation has been tarnished.

That's why she is making sure Reed gets what she deserves.
